OK, knees, you win...for now.

So, I think I did too much too soon. I can barely walk and taking the stairs in any direction is excruciating. I've been doing a cardio/sculpt routine on my C25K off days which could've/should've waited a while. I'm heartbroken, but I did this to myself. I'll own it.

I'm going to take a week for some rest, stretching, hydration, and low-impact gentle exercise. Ice, compression, and elevation are also in my immediate future.

But I refuse to give up. I'll be back!!

Poor you! As you say, you may have done too much. Good to listen to your body. I had painful knees during Week 3 but carried on and then regretted it. I took a week off and did all the things you're proposing to do, and was able to start again without any pain.

Good luck!

Take it easy and read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... if you haven't already.

Take care.

I took two weeks out for the sam issue. It really helped. I've just restarted week three. I had just finished week five run three when my knee was just too sore. Glad I rested it. I found it hard starting again but felt pleased with myself that I managed the five min runs again after time off. Take time out completely for two weeks and see how it is when you start again but go back a week. If it flares up again go to the docs, or go now 😐 Good luck

The best attitude :) Learn lesson, rest, regenerate, and come back with more wisdom.

Slow and steady. Knees are tricky and they need a lot of patience.

I'll be waiting for your next post. Regardless if it will be from rest period or when you do your next run. We are 'always' here ;)

Take care and speedy recovery. Lot of hugs.

I'm a lot better, thank you for asking! Although I helped a friend move into her first house on Saturday (which my knees didn't thank me for), I think I'm ready to restart Week 2 runs today after work. My focus throughout the day is to hydrate and stretch.
