I hope you aren't all tired of hearing these w5r3 posts! I love reading every one and I had to share too. I ran for 20 minutes straight today. This is the longest I have ever run in my entire life (almost 40 years)!!! THAT is exciting! I was athletic and strong as a teenager and into my 20s but could never run far. I couldn't get past the burning lungs. By week 3 in the program, my burning lungs were gone. Today, the first 15 minutes was good, the last 5 minutes I had to slow it down even more and really push through, but I made it! I almost shouted for joy at this new milestone (too many people around or I would have). I feel like I overcame a huge mental hurdle and I have no doubts about the rest of my runs now and my ability to do this. Thank you for this program and for all of you spurring each other on.

W5R3 - Feeling accomplished!
That run was easily the toughest of the programme for me. You ran for 20 mins; that is amazing. Next time let yourself whoop for joy, the people around you don't know you haven't just run a marathon! 😁
Very well done and what confidence for the remainder. It is like being on a high ridge and you can now see the summit ahead. You have so got this.S&S and some more S if and when required.S does not stand for stopping🤔😂😂😂👍
Very, very well done... now, move forward to the longer runs.. relax into them and let the newly found running legs find their own happy pace
Fantastic...Well done, it feels great doesn't it..
Yes, this is when it suddenly all feels possible! You Will Do It😄...
Onwards and upwards...
(you can get away with a fist pump!😉)
I think I will probably jump for joy or fall to the ground and cry when I finish week 9!!
Fantastic feeling isn’t it? Whooping out loud is allowed I did on week 1 run 1 so pleased was I that I was still on two feet and breathing!
From now on it is really nice to run for longer, you don’t have to rev yourself up again after the walks . Good luck with the recast of the programme .
What a brilliant post, Toni. Well done, you have achieved such a lot. Good luck for the rest and keep posting!
Wow! Well done! I really hope I have the same success but at the moment (W2R3 tonight) it’s a distant dream!
You're amazing! Enjoy the feeling 😀
Such a big milestone and really makes you realise that you really can do this. Keep going
I actually found the split runs of week 6 harder than running 20mins but everyone is different so keep it up and in the words of michael Johnson who has been my buddy all the way through,"You got this!"
Tired? No way! It's such a fantastic feeling, we all want everyone to get there and hearing about it reminds us how it felt!
Congratulations! It's such a milestone, mentally, emotionally and physically. Well done! 👍🌟🌟🌟
Enjoy the coming runs... you've got this 👍😁
It’s a great feeling isn’t it 😁 congratulations and happy running into Wk6 🙌
Wow!! I have just finished W3 and am amazed at the difference even 3 weeks makes! I’m 58 and have never been sporty or able to run, but I love this and your post gives me hope. Today I completed the run and then ran a few minutes more just for fun, what a good feeling! Well done you on yours !!
I completed wk5 r3 today. Allowed myself to punch the air afterwards.
Well done on your run! Enjoy the rest
You’re right sometimes the mental challenge is the hardest - training the body can seem easier 😆
