Wow, you guys are awesome! I've joined last night. I'm Julia, almost 41 and fairly active but not a runner. I signed up for a 5K fun run which will take place in a few months, and thought I'd better train :)

I'm running with my just-turned 8YO son. We did a few unstructured runs at the local park and then went onto C25K. We did W2R1 yesterday. I'm loving it, so far. My son moans for a bit at run 1 (every time!!!) but then gets on with it (he's doing the fundraising fun run with me too). I'm so proud of him! He says he feels incredible after each run.

We run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and one day at the weekend due to after -school commitments, so next run due on Tuesday i.e. snow day!!! Dreading it!

Anyway just to say that this community and its moderators are fantastic, so much good advice. You really motivate people like me. Thank you!

This is so fantastic, like you I started out C25k running with my son when he was 11. He is 16 now and I’m 47 and I’m also called Julia 😻😻😻 we still run together sometimes and it really did bring us much closer so I am so pleased you are both doing this together... good luck on your journey 😎

Well done you..keep it slow and steady and really enjoy the runs with your son too: :)

The main thing is to take it gently, and really have fun...getting to that podium injury free:)
