Thankyou. I think I set out this morning to “get it out of the way”. Wrong attitude.
As for the gear...you are too kind. I’m not sure I’ll get away with all this flashy stuff when I get back home. Looks the part in the snowy mountains here but not on the wet pavements back home! X
I’m a rather large gent still and I run in tights without shorts over the top as it’s not comfy
Ok it leaves very little to the imagination and nobody feels like eating if they see me out but I’m out I’m running and I’m comfy that’s what really matters
As for hills you either attack them or just turn round and run back
I have black Lycra bottoms, black top , black gloves and a black beanie. I think its a cool ninja look - my older children think I look like a black prophylactic. I don't mind cos I'm the one running and smiling. Remember the day after tomorrow is another day running
This is a hiccup: don't be disheartened, give it another go snd stay on track. I'm 67 and a C25K graduate and am now running 50 minutes non-stop. Listen to your body, watch your pace and breathe deep. Go for it!(
Its ok you can do this. Dont be so hard on yourself. Look how far you have already come runner! Take a rest day and then do it again. Most of us have done that at sometime.
Next time you feel like that turn round and run back the way you came. Conquering hills can come later.
You did 88%. That's gotta be an A* in most peoples books. 3 mins aint gonna matter one one jot a few months from now. So enjoy that nordic air, stretch out on a reindeer rug and enjoy. Nice headband btw
You’re right. That’s how I must see it. I was here on holiday last year and back then I would never have dreamed of running from the house I’m staying in round to my friend’s house 2.5 km away. Thankyou for your support. X
It was a bad run. Leave it behind you and start fresh for the next one. Hills take some getting used to, I find it useful to shorten my stride by almost half on steep bits.
Don't let it get you down. You are doing great! 👍😊
I’m starting to feel more positive now I have a rest day. I’ll try again tomorrow and choose my route carefully.
Back home on Sunday so then I can go back to my local pavements. Never thought I’d miss them! Think it’s going to be icy at home too though from what I hear!
you are so close! just forget that bad day and push on to the next - repeat if necessary - i've felt ill all week and am dreading my wk 7 run 2 later today but I will succeed! I cried when I finished wk 7 run 1 on Wednesday, the euphoria of pushing through is SO worth it! xx
Great photo! Same happened to me w7r2, when running on holiday hadn't realised all my warm up walk was uphill then when started running, found myself instantly breathless and stopped after one minute! I walked for 2 minutes to level ground, then ran the remaining 22. As I knew what had gone wrong, I ignored it and just moved on with the programme - now onto w8r3 tomorrow. So keep on running, especially with the lovely new rig out!
