So I'm about to start wk 7 and feel ill 😷 very fed up about this as a lot of my discipline is contingent on a good routine now I am worried everything will go to waste... suggestions on how to get back to fitness after illness without losing too much time?!

First of all DON'T PANIC! Catastrophising will not help. Take time to be poorly and to recover. When you are feeling better, start running again. I had a cold at week 6 and was out for a week. I picked up from where I left off (with some trepidation) without any problems. By now you have a store of fitness and you will be fine.
Not easy to advise from the info on your posts.
Generally do not stress over time.You do not lose your hard earned fitness overnight.🤔
Depending on your illness and mood , keep yourself ticking over with anything that is easy and appropriate within the comfort of your own home.There is just so much you can do without equipment. All or any movement is good. After all we were given muscles to be used.
How we manage our downtime is just as important as our uptime.For some even more so.

You will lose little or no discernible condition after a break of two weeks. From there on in it may become a bit more evident. You will only know what you will be able to do by trying, when well again. Start back were you left off and if it is beyond you, drop back a run or two until you find a level that you can cope with.
In the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... I give my view that it is not worth trying to run until you are properly recovered.
Eating well to bring your energy levels back up. Once you've rested and are eating well you can get back out there when you feel like it. You are only going to be going slowly and steadily, as before, so no need to bust a gut and get all flustered.

The main thing is not going back to the couch for good. Look after yourself properly. Once recovered get back on the horse and just see how it goes. Don't sweat it if it feels hard, just take it slow and steady. You may not even notice much difference at all. 👍😊
thanks to everyone for your good advice, weirdly enough i haven't succumbed to any flu - I think I scared it off with my running/staggering!! and I CRIED after wk 7 run 1 - was so euphoric ... was listening to Jose Gonzalez "line of fire" as I ran the last 300 metres and it just lifted me up and away! not going to get too excited for today's run, just going to do it and move on - if the euphoria comes again that will be a bonus!
