Running after illness

Hi love this forum this is my first post I finished week 3 3rd run on Monday and have loved every minute of it. I then woke up Tuesday feeling unwell had to go home from work and have been in bed since with flu like symptoms. I’m feeling better today (after three days in bed sleeping) but would I be mad trying to do week 4? I do have a bit of a chesty cough but my body aches from lying in bed thinking a run might be good. Words of wisdom please all you good people.

Go with your own body, do as much as you can, if you don’t want to then just rest some more. Some say getting out helps though.

If recommend making sure you feel 100% first you will get more out of it and enjoy it more. Does more harm than good if your not quite right and may make you feel poorly again.

I’d agree with others..listen to your body and don’t run until you feel better...energy levels will already be low if you have been laid up for 3 days...just ease back in gently.

Below neck.. don't run.. above neck..that is fine:) Maybe take a good brisk walk and see how you go :) Clear the cobwebs!

See how you feel. I'd repeat W3R3, but if you feel you can do it, then just go for it, listean to your body, and when it tells you to stop - stop, and count the run as a pre-week4-run and then just repeat W4R1 ;) That was one hell long sentence - sorry.

Anyway, wish you speedy recovery and happy running!
