Chronic Illness and Running

I realised while on holiday it would be difficult to run due to not knowing the country I was in and limited space at the hotel so after a well off I'm back to training week 2 run 1. I have a lot of endometriosis symptoms today mainly on and off cramps and bloating. It can be difficult to train when suffering with chronic illness especially trying to find the mind set to do it as chronic illness doesn't just effect you physically it also effects your mental wellbeing and sometimes it's easy to just fall into a routine of negative behaviour patterns. Recently someone I follow on instagram uploaded a story about getting stronger. Not letting your physical health get in the way of making you stronger. I've been inspired to take this challenge more seriously to push myself to see what I can do. I didn't come this far to just come this far!! I say this all the time I am not my illness nor will I ever let it define me but these words resonate with me more than ever now. I may not be able to control my health but I can contribute to making myself stronger.

Great great post. While you may not be able to control all aspects of your health, being stronger will only help in the future. You’re going to be the best version of you, and then you’re going to improve on that... and there’s no bigger victories in life than that. Happy running.
