Stop Press! Non-runner completes Week 4

Out at 6.45am this morning. Got properly wet and did great impression of drowning rat. Along the way, I completed Run3 of W4. When I swam back to the shores of chez moi, I felt I had really deserved that hot shower!

Can't say that Run 3 felt any easier than Run 1 of W4, so am quite (very) nervous about W5! But then, I felt that about W4. So will just have to give it a go!

Any tips for surviving W5? Thanks for all the help already received - I couldn't have got so far without this forum.

I’m only on week 3 day 1 (well, will be later today!) so I don’t have any tips on week 5 but just wanted to say well done on completing week 4 😊

Thanks so much! Good luck with week 3 - you can do it!

You did week 4 so you are ready for 5!

Yep:)

Just one foot in front of the other, as slowly and steadily as you like. Each and every run builds you up for the next... all you have to do, is believe it...:)

We will be right there with you...( I will be the one whispering in your ear... Slow and steady :)

Hey Oldfloss - I am the slow and steady queen, having read your advice on this forum. It really does work - I went off like a crazy person in Week 1, and soon learned to slow down and shorten my stride.

I look forward to listening to your encouragement during Week 5. To be honest, it does feel as though I am running with/for other people on this forum. Not like I'm doing it all alone, if that makes sense!

Thanks again. Jo x

Hehe you will have to stop calling yourself a non runner. You are beginning to realise you have succumbed, I think. 😀.

I know! That's just how I've always thought of myself. But I guess I am a runner after all.

I didn't find week four enjoyable at all and for the first time since week one I felt like giving up near the end of run three. Yesterday I completed run one week five and felt so much more positive about running. I've put it down to the big step up from week three to week four?

That's interesting - I haven't enjoyed Week 4 either. So good to hear that R1W5 felt OK - well done you! I shall try to follow in your footsteps.
