Probs with week 8

I thought I was doing so well with C25K. It’s been hard but I got to week7 ok but my first attempt at week 8 was a disaster. I just could not keep going after half-way. Ended up walking and running the last half. Now I feel very disappointed and don’t know if I should go back a few weeks or attempt again. Any ideas would be welcome!

Have an extra rest day, or even more. Those longer runs can take a lot out of you.

When you try again go very slow. You need to pace yourself as runs get longer.

Be positive.

Thanks for the advice. I did my run yesterday and probably felt the best so far. It all seemed to fall into place. Slow but sure!

Take a day off and get out there again, you will do it! You have already mastered 25 mins running, so you know you can do that. Week 8 is just 3 mins more.

Take it slow right from the start, then slow a bit more. These longer runs are all about pacing yourself.

Keep going runner, you are doing grand!

Thanks I did it. Felt really good. My head was in a much better place. Very pleased with myself.

Definitely not a disaster, just a practice. Extra rest day and then try again ☺
