Looking for motivation really due to work and other life things going on I started all positive on Sunday wk1 day1 but havent ran since. Deffo going to do it tonight and tomorrow but I have had alot on which was unexpected but feeling slightly annoyed with myself at the same time.

Also do you lovely people prefer early morn or eve runs?

Hi and welcome!

You've already made the first step - doing that first run! And sounds like you have a busy life to fit the running into.

There's no hurry to do the runs, and always leave at least one rest day between runs - you mentioned running tonight and tomorrow. I am finding that the rest day(s) is essential, and at one point in week 3 I had to take a week off due to knee pain.

Listen to me - sound like an old hand but I am just starting week 4, so only been doing this malarky for a few weeks!

Regarding morning or evening runs, I always run early morning - between 6.30 and 7.30. It suits me very well.

Anyway, best of luck with the programme - if I can do this then I'm sure you can!

Hello Hidden , great screen name. :-)

Welcome to the C25K forum. There are some fabulous people in here, and when I started the programme a year and a half ago I don't think I could have persevered without the encouragement and advice of many.

Life does get in the way of running, so I find it helpful to plan when I'm going to run before the week begins and get it on the calendar.

I'm an first thing in the morning person. I find if I leave it until later in the day I'm totally unmotivated. It's also great way to wake myself up and get a bright start to the day. (I'm lucky I don't have to run so early that it's still dark.) On the days when I'm really organised I get my running kit out the night before and stick my leggings and top on the radiator, so there is a bigger incentive to get out of bed and get it on as it's cosy and warm. It also cuts down on the faff (do a search and you'll discover how many of us are struck down with this affliction, which at its worst can take longer than the actual run itself, and sometimes expends more energy!).

Good luck for W1 R2 today. Don't forget to come back and tell us how you got on.

Happy running. :-)

Personally, my favourite time for running is 11-12 am. I am lucky enough to fit work around my runs for most of them.

Welcome to our little supportive forum and well done on taking those first steps out the door they are always the hardest.

Always first thing for me. I like being out when no one else is on the streets!

Welcome Lvscpa- you have come to the right place for friendly encouragement!

I run early evening straight after work because that is what my body can cope with! -But my brain would love to be a morning runner! At the weekend I enjoy a later morning run. 😀

Hi all, thanks for your comments.

Didn't run tonight as had awful day at work and just shattered, I did intend to but still.

I'd love early morn running if I didn't live so far away from work. I get up early at 530 and leave by 640, know it should be ample but then I'd have to shower before going in etc.

Most eves I'm in at 7 so work is hectic but due to being cleared from my injury now I'm eager to commence running. Look forward to meeting more motivational people 😊

I often find after a crappy day a run is just what I need, even when I make it home late.

I'm up at 4.45 and aim to be home by 6. I run as soon as I can get home, make the next days lunches and get changed, then I do 6/7 minutes of "garden aerobics" when I get back incorporating dynamic stretching and usually 30 squats.

The days stresses disappear! 👍😁
