Hello All

I hope you are well. I am new to this community/forum.

I have been following the c25k podcasts with Laura and only have week 9 to complete this week. Any tips gratefully received as I've felt quite tired after the week 8 runs. Also, I would like to continue running and have been looking for additional podcasts maybe 5k to 10k - anyone know of a good one they can recommend?

I have also registered for parkrun and was hoping to find someone to go with. Does anyone here attend either the Maidstone or Gillingham parkrun? It would be good to make some new friends too 😊

I look forward to your replies.

Hi Joanne76! Welcome to the forum! I have only just graduated and I went straight into the C25k+ podcasts which (I'm sure you will be pleased to know) are still with Laura. Start with Stepping Stones and progress to Speed and Stamina - or just mix and match them however you like.

I don't have any park runs at all round here in the north west of the U.K. But I.'m sure someone on this forum won't be too far from you.

Meanwhile, good luck with W9 - after all your hard work it will be a breeze!

Thanks Stella and congratulations on completing the c25k. Mine will be like a Christmas present to myself if I manage it. Looking back two months I never saw myself as a runner/being able to run! I will search out and download the podcasts 😊

Enjoy your Sunday.

You will definitely do it now! Week 9, strangely enough, is an easy one as you have done all the hard work. I was so thrilled to graduate. I'm 65 and also never saw myself as a runner but them something prompted me to start and now I look forward to my runs and fret on my rest days!

Keep on running!

Hi Stella

Whereabouts in the north-west are you?

John

I'm near Lancaster. There is a park run at Fell Foot, Windermere (or perhaps not at the moment...), and another at Skipton but that's my nearest I think. My daughter lives near Leamington so I'm hoping when we go down there I can have a go at theirs nearby.

I'm hoping to do Leamington parkrun on Jan 2nd.

Welcome Joanne.

Sounds like you've been doing just fine and as the week 9 runs are just consolidation with a couple of extra Minutes tagged on, graduation is just around the corner! What a great Christmas present to yourself!

A period of building your stamina and consolidating 5k is a good idea next perhaps before immediately extending your distance. The C25K+ podcasts are a great way to do that.

so... I did it.... W9R1 and it got easier after the first ten minutes had passed and I have to admit that the music this week isn't that bad when compared to other weeks... 1 down 2 to go... feeling quite chuffed with myself!

Hi there Jo

Another fan of Stepping Stones podcasts here. You're on familiar ground with good old Laura. These are quite tricky so will be a good challenge for you. Be sure to run them inside out and they will bring your running on no end.

Have fun!

Thank you for your reply misswobble. I will be looking for these podcasts later ready for week after next... or maybe I wait till after Christmas? Nah... I think the break may be a bad idea.
