After the ecstasy of completing the first run of week 6 I was mortified and annoyed to struggle with W6R2. I found it really hard and was absolutely mortified to be overtaken by people walking!!!!! I blame it on New trainers, New route, evening run, a backpack and possibly dehydrated.
I was so nervous about todayβs 25min run but delighted to have completed it and now feel good and positive again. Excited to move on to week 7. And, avoid all walkers!!!!!

Those walkers can be really speedy - I have had the same experience. Nothing to do but laugh about it. Same with children, those short little legs are deceivingly quick.
Ha ha π I do a lot of walking, and Iβm very slow, but a speedy long-distance walker will do about 4.5 mph. My walking pace is 2.5mph and my βrunsβ so far have never exceeded 4mph.! Donβt you just hate those show-off speedy walkers?!
Did I mention the time I was overtaken - around week three- by an elderly man with a walking stick and an obese Jack Russell? You may have been overtaken by walkers, but you were running and tbey werent and running is harder. Anyone can walk.
Yep. I did an event - an actual race - where there was a Nordic walker who beat me. And I dread seeing walkers ahead of me when I'm just out for a run And there was the time when I was running up a hill and an older lady came up behind me - walking with two bags of shopping...
The Finns here in Helsinki have a new post natal "sport" of jogging all sportily dressed-up to kill and pushing the latest all-terrain baby buggy! They may have given birth lately but they are all so damned young and fit! Haven't been overtaken yet but it feels odd having a pram pusher breathing down your neck! Total 100% respect for their committment though.
Before I became a person who runs, I used to walk when doing my local annual 10K event, and ....... I passed quite a few runners so don't wory about being passed, you are doing G R E A T
