Well done.

Read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Slow down, is the commonest advice we give.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done. My thighs after day 1 were sore/achy. By the day of my next run - one days rest - I still had a dull ache but it mostly subsided and I managed to run without problem. In terms of my body coping, W1R1 and W4R2 were the most challenging but I made W4R3 without issue. I had the weekend off and my knees seem over the dull ache which is reassuring, given I'm due to start W5 tomorrow. The advice on here is, do not run if in pain. I noticed with my warm up walks, any concerns that I had evaporated as the ache/soreness did. The post above will provide the advice you require. Hope that your shin issue does not set you back!

Some shin stretches that may help (certainly worked for me)

Its the trainers.

Slow down and try to put a little bounce in your step rather than hitting the floor hard

Changing trainers asap (with a gait analysis first, free at lots of sports places) would be my best advice. I was running in trainers I’d only ever used for power walking previously and I was getting sore feet. Soon solved with new shoes. Good luck 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
