W5r3 done!: Done milestone run. Very happy π - Couch to 5K
W5r3 done!
Fantastic! Always an amazing feeling
Iβm just off out on this one, any tips ? Well done on completing π
Be positive you have done other runs ! Resist temptation to watch time. Play some good music and time will fly. Think how pleased you will be when you finish! I was grinning from ear to ear I am definitely not a natural runner and I am not quick! But getting real sense of achievement from this. You can do it! I was surprised I managed it. Good luck look forward to hearing how you got on x
Thanks for the advice, run completed and feeling great, bit tough on the first 5 mins but then got my pace and enjoyed my new playlist and before I new it down to the last couple of mins π
... and so you should be! That is a great achievement. Enjoy W6 -it was my favourite because I knew that I could do it. π
Thanks I feel like that too. looking forward to starting that week. I know all advice is slow and steady but starting to feel that week could be a chance to up tempo a notch as definitely feeling fitter. I think I have gained enough awareness to know when I need to slow down but interested to know if you felt like that too?
No, I am new to running at the age of 58 so speed is not much of a consideration for me - although I think my speed will gradually pick up to some extent without me thinking about it . I am interested in..,
enjoying my running - different routes and different running patterns.
increasing how many mins I run for - so also increasing distance
Starting Park Runs when I feel ready.
Eventually I plan to do the bridge to 10 K once running 5K is something I can comfortably do three times a week.
I loved W6 but I know some people say they found it harder than they expected, so I would go gently! π
Thanks for advice think I was in a high after doing w5 run! Being a bit over confident I was probably not v fit when I started this (early 40s low activity!) so decided to take at usual gentle jog pace. Just finished 1st run of week 6. Had some βissuesβ today not related to run which caused lack of sleep last night and wasnβt feeling great but running does help clear the mind and looking forward to the rest of week. Good luck with your running and doing bridge to 10k
Think of all the other runs you have done - you got through those! Take it easy and resist temptation to look at how long you have got to go. Play some music to distract you and watch time fly. Also think how pleased you will be once you have finished. I was grinning from ear to ear as definitely not a natural runner! Best of luck sure you will do it! Looking forward to hearing how you got on! X
