Making Actual Plans for Virtual Runs for Actual Bling

Today was a day sent straight from Hell, I won't go into details but I went home from work so exhausted that I couldn't even fathom putting on my kit and attempting R.E.D February (though a nice surprise was finding out that Mr Psycho has the weekend off and he's decided that he's going to take me out for breakfast tomorrow)

So, I decided to focus on something positive, NOT work related. I was chatting with Dhiny yesterday and we discussed which of the virtual run medals we both fancied - for anyone interested, we decided that we both like the look of the 'Danger Run' (Danger Mouse shaped medal, so we can say we're terrific, we're magnific) and the Rock Your Runs

I told her that I thought since I've done 'Run for Pizza' this week and we both have 'Run like a Time Lord' coming up in March, I'd take April off from running for Bling, though I'll still run for exercise

Thus my plans so far look like this:

March - Run like a Time Lord 5k

April- No Bling running

May - Star Wars themed run, even though being a good welsh girl I should probably be doing the Fun Run with the SuperTed shaped medal, I really can't decide which of the 3 Star Wars medals I like best, I like them all but I know doing all three would be pushing it. If they had a Wil Cwac Cwac medal on offer that month though, you'd better believe I'd say 'screw you, Star Wars' and do that one ;)

June - No Bling running

July - Danger Run

August - No Bling running

September - Thunder Run (any distance)

October- Rock your Run (10k minimum)

November & December - No Bling running

I thought that was a pretty sensible 'not wearing myself out' schedule. Also, the months I'm not running for bling had boring looking medals or ones I don't feel I can do, I mean there's a lot of Dog Jogs in there and I don't own a dog. (And although the Small Feline Overlords will walk on harnesses, they aren't very good at going in a straight line or keeping pace with me, they tend to like wandering in circles and get easily distracted by small furry and/or feathery things whilst out and about. I wonder if this is why there's no 'walk with you cat' runs ;)

*yawns* anyway, I'm off to bed.

Take care

November last had a MAGNIFICENT bling :) Dunno what it will be this November but if you want to keep an eye out and decide to Virtual run it, would be great to have a Forum pal 'along' with me ;)

those are rather fab, Irish-John. I may have to keep an eye out

and it would be great have a pal 'along' on virtual runs - I'm trying to convince some of my co-workers to do virtual runs (sort of a team-bonding thing) but so far, no luck

Will forward Police Run details when I get them.

As for non-urgent running coworkers, at least YOU will be healthy enough to visit them in the Cardiac Care Unit down the line ;)

Virtual Runner UK. They have races running all year, You sign up for races, find a race you like the look of the bling, pay your fee, do it in the alloted time scale, submit proof you've done it and they send your medal in the post.

I'm using VRUK as motivation for running, but I don't want to sign up for so many races that I wear myself out

Not what you're looking for?
