Just got back from my 2nd run of week 7.Having run it successfully on saturday i made the mistake of expecting it to maybe be slightly easier.I was wrong!!!
I am hoping it was down to a few factors...on a personal level things are not easy at the moment...last night there were yet more high winds that kept me awake & I hardly slept.then...said winds seemed to be blowing in my direction for the entire run!!!& my chest feels compromised today.everybody in my house has a chesty cough except me at the moment!!!
So i completed the run but it felt much harder than it should have been & not nearly as enjoyable as all the others π
Hey Claire! At least you got out there and did it. I've found that there's no rhyme or reason to running. Last Thursday I ran just over 5.5 km in 30 minutes and even managed to sprint the last 60 seconds. Last night I struggled to get to 5.1 km in the same time and felt dead on my feet at the end.
Well done for getting out there ... and well done for being just one run away from W8.
We all have difficult runs like that (and sometimes two or three in a row) but there's always a good run waiting just round the corner. So keep smiling, keep running and up the good work.
You did it, that's what really matters. I always found the second run of most weeks the hardest, probably for the same reasons as you.
A good night's sleep is also a prerequisite for a good run in my book. An often underestimated aspect, but highlights how so many other things in your life can affect your performance.
I found all the 2nd runs tougher for some reason. But you went out there and have this one under your belt and better prepared for the next one. Look after yourself for now and take plenty of rest.
