Good luck, and don't worry if it takes you more than nine weeks. Hope your recovery from your life-changing surgery continues to go well.

Wow! Congratulations on your recovery... and how marvellous that you’re still raring to go with this!

Like Lizz says, there’s no rush, slow ‘n’ steady runs AND weeks is the way to go. Good luck! Happy running 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Take it really steady. You have a lot of healing and adjustments going on. As a family we went through kidney transplant and donor last year, your body needs some tlc to heal. As a donor (with complicated surgery) I was advised not to run until wk 12, if you have the go ahead take as much time as you need on each week, it is a journey not a race. Most of all enjoy your new found energy

Brilliant news, a great thing for you!

My 28 yr old daughter had a kidney transplant late October 2016, she completed her first post surgery 5k run ( Parkrun) late February 2017. Which is about the timescale you are suggesting. But, she walked everyday following surgery, a little further everyday. Then she walked a little faster each day, and Christmas Eve 2016 she walked our local Parkrun. She started the C25k programme directly after that, and fully ran Parkrun late February, a great time too! She always ran prior her illness mind you, and was ( still is) a gymnast.

But through out it all she took advice from her medical team at every point. I am sure you will do similar, if they are happy go for it. Slow and steady, don’t risk trips and falls. Good luck!
