I am experiencing alot of hip pain since my 25 minute run on wednesday 😕

Does anyone have any tried & tested methods of easing this?

I got terrible hip pain after two runs a few weeks ago - the third of that week I slowed right down and et voila - no pain.

I was suprised what a difference it made. Keeping it pretty slow now and have had no further occurances

Sorry to here about your pain, hope it eases soon, I had it very briefly in the early days after graduation while running uphill, took rest and stretching and all was well...see the links below..

Have you had a gait analysis? A more supportive pair of running shoes may help?

Don’t run through pain, not even C25k is worth that!

I have been absolutely fine until now so hoping its just a blip

Oh dear! Can you define where on your hip? I had some hip pain a while back (mostly front), which I resolved with running for shorter times, and hip stretching and strengthening my glutes. (Figure of four stretch and reclined pigeon yoga pose for stretching / bridges and clam shell exercises for strengthening…)

Its currently in the top of my leg & bum cheek!!!

Sounds like your piriformis muscle is tight! The bum cheek pain gives it away. 😀 This stretch worked wonders for me:

(When you do it, you will feel the tightness in your bum cheek). Good luck!

I had this on long training runs and it was killing me and I had to stop running for a few weeks

I think it's down to a weakness somewhere. Trouble in the calves spreads upwards. We all tend to get unbalanced so one side does all the work. We have to get stronger all over our bodies to get rid of these niggly pains.

Like Sadie, I think yoga is fab for this! I bought a £5 dvd beginners yoga with Tamal Dodge. I liked it so much I bought another one of his. It's excellent. that should get you firing on all cylinders.

Good luck and i hope you feel better soon. Take care
