Hello, I’m 43 and I’m on day 22 of quitting smoking (hooray me) and iv got through the first 3 weeks and I have just completed day 2 week 1 of c25k.

I need as much advic and guidance as I’m a health fitness Virgin.. I am also on a journey of self-love as I have hated myself for too long now..

Well done on both counts but especially the smoking, I gave up a few years ago and it's honestly the best thing I've ever done, think of the money you'll save. Always remember you're lapping the person who's still on the couch, get an uplifting playlist as that will help and always congratulate yourself on every session you do. Good luck and keep going.

Well done to you. I gave up smoking about 8 years ago. I would say that you have got over the worst as it gets easier every day, but you must remember that from time-to-time the urge will be there.

I once congratulated myself for giving-up so easily by convincing myself I could do it anytime I wanted and that one cigarette wouldn't hurt. Well as I'm sure you can guess, one turned into two, and in turn a whole packet, followed by more self-loating. This kind of cirlce I managed to finally break, and as I have said it has been 8 years now.

As for the running. Do get yourself a good pair of trainers. Keep well-hydrated every day, not just run days, as this affects the following day as well. Follow the programme. Take your rest days to recover your body. Keep it slow and steady - you are building endurance, not trying to win a race. Also, don't be tempted to up your food intake to compensate.

Thank you for your comment. I have been in a dreaded circle of quitting and rewarding with cigarettes. I have been here so many times, with quitting. However, i am determined to no have a single drag of a cigarette.
