What a difference a year makes ....

It's my 38th birthday today. After a lovely afternoon with Hidden having lunch, visiting Up & Running in Headington and generally geeking out about running stuff, I took myself out for a birthday run. It was one of those runs where everything just feels right, I felt strong and although I went faster I wasn't tired or out of breath, I enjoyed every minute and achieved a PB for 6k.

The thing I love best about this is that on my 37th birthday I doubt I could have managed 6 meters - so in this respect at least, I can say I've improved with age. 😊

It was a lovely day! And it’s all your fault I landed up on here. I wanted to run for many years but was told my prior injuries made it impossible. Thanks to your example, I checked with my GP and was overjoyed to find opinions have changed.

So I am in awe of my amazing daughter. Look at your pace and time and distance. You’ve not been running long, so I think you should be proud of what you can do.

Thank you. Not a year of running though - only 3 months of that. I was just contemplating how different I am to last Birthday and how that's because of the running.

Thank you! I do tend to go too fast for my level of fitness and wear myself out though so I’m still working on that.
