Week 1 done...

I’ve run five times this week, but each time have followed the W1 program; I’m planning to progress to W2 program when I start my calendar week 2.

Being able to do, and enjoy, this run is giving me confidence to build on next week.

Onwards and upwards.

You rest days are important! You are putting yourself at risk of injury by not taking them, and you body needs them to heal. Your legs will not get stronger without taking them, so they are just as important for progressing as the runs themselves.

Hi yes, thanks - I have taken my GP advice on this who says that at low impact level, it’s fine. I don’t plan to continue at this pace as I progress!

Hello and welcome.

The programme is tried and tested as is, so just follow the programme unless you dont manage to complete a run. Then repeat it on your next run day.

Always take a rest day after a run day. On these rest days do as your GP suggested, non impact exercise.

Good luck on your journey.
