Hi Roly

I'm Beth, aka Quirkybee

I have a fab 22 year old Son, a new black lab puppy 10 weeks old (RIP my darling little Ozzy) and I'm not quite a runaholic just yet, as I simply cannot afford the time, but I absolutely love running and it's the only sport that I've stuck to and really enjoyed.

Roll on to many more running days, good weather, lighter nights and fab friends on this site.

Love you all!! xx 😘

You're just in denial xxx

I'm not a runaholic, or I'd be out there at every possible chance and I'd be lying if I said I was, but I love this sport, this is MY sport, including off road cycling, I cannot give time when I don't have it, ohhhh, I wish I could, lol.

I have a new furry running friend for future days to come though and I'm so looking forward to it. Even got Finley a running bandana 🤣🐶🐶🐅

Oooh, a black lab puppy 🐶 s/he’ll need a lot of exercise 😊🏃🏾‍♀️😊

Ah I know Helen, going to start off short walks first, as he's only 10 weeks x

Congrats on the new puppy, Beth. I remember your post when you had to say goodbye to Ozzy. I'm glad you were able to open your heart to a new furry family member.

Me too - so glad you have a new furry friend..... who you can go running with! :)

Aww thanks Saska, I'm missing ozzy though, he was a good companion. But I love little Finley, he's a sweetheart, apart from the piranha biting, lol 🤣 x

It's quite the adjustment going from a senior to a rambunctious puppy 😂. Can't wait to see a picture of Finley. Hopefully he'll sit still long enough for a pic 😍

Hello and good evening, I'm mrrun. I'm so careful about injuries, l do all sorts of exercises to jazz up my running. Except, a week or so ago when serving a dinner l theatrically pulled my lower back muscle, l haven't run since, haha! I'm not sure if l should rejoice or fear my visit to trusted doctor's torture garden. Oh well. Never thought that some beef could mess one up this way. :)

rolysmate profile image

not good, just hope the beef was good

Was excellent, but the appetite was gone. Wine helped though.

To all you runaholics ..I wish I could have a bit of your addiction....I graduated from c25k sept/oct and still feel more like a reluctant runner. I try to get out 3 times a week with one run the Parkrun. I find that gives me the structure that I need. My biggest battle is still those gremlins...there is always a "shall I shan't i" voice; an "I have a choice; I don't have to go" voice. I wish the addiction would sweep over me!! Happy running all you runaholics.

I feel exactly the same. I have run 3 times a week since graduating and been out in all weathers, xmas day and so on. Have done a park run and intend to do more including a 10k in april. BUT I don't love it yet. I feel amazing once it is over and love to celebrate every victory, I think about running when I'm not and miss it when I can't... but I DONT love it..

It's coming to get you, don't worry. Sounds like you are well on track to becoming a runaholic any day soon. I was exactly the same.

Ahhhh but you are a runaholic

quirkybee profile image

Your words sum up my feelings exactly. I'm ready to go to work now, but feel I would rather go for a run. Plus I eventually found my new running shoes lol and should be able to get out for an hour over the weekend and in the DAYLIGHT too 😊

I enjoy running so much! The main problem is finding the time, some weeks are easier than others. I graduated in August and I'm still trying to run 5K non stop but I've taken part in a couple of virtual runs and most importantly I feel better in myself - sleep better, feel happier and physically stronger. Haven't really lost much weight yet, time to tackle the diet! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

Ditto Kim, well done on all you're trying to fit in x

Want us to do an intervention rolysmate amd get you away from this wicked forum that is obviously stoking your addiction? lol

I would like to be a runaholic, as it is a 'good; addiction but fear that after 4+ years I still don't crave it enough, though I did a 10K in my dream last night which was good, as I run a lot better in my dreams than in real life!!!! 8-)

Hi I’m MummyCav....I have to admit that I too have developed a strange addiction to this running business....I find myself online shopping for clothes & accessories without even realising! I wander into sports shops and gather armfuls of Lycra to wear on my ‘special outings’....I never switch off...I am thinking about running at all times....I look out for other runners, I look at peoples footwear....I am a ‘stay-at-Home’ Mum so I have the liberty of planning my days around my addiction....I find that I am also searching on here for help, tips & advice to help keep my addiction going....I am & it still surprises me to say....a runaholic....🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏻

I too have become a runaholic! I just think about it constantly and bore my family to death!! I spot other runners and say oh they must be doing their couch to 5 k! I’m gathering all sorts of strange new bright clothing but I love every single minute of it!! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️😂
