I only went and did it!! I am beside myself with joy!!
I’d originally planned on attempting this run yesterday but plans changed so it was put back to today. I went out with the mindset that I COULD do it, but if for whatever reason I didn’t it would be a practice run and anything over 8 minutes I would be pleased with.
It’s particlarly cold today and once I got moving I think that may have helped. I developed a stitch at about 4 minutes but pushed through with th help of the wonderful voice of Michael Johnson. I was very mindful of my pace and slowed myself down several times, and was surprised that after 10 minutes I actually felt pretty great. I was so elated when I hit 18 minutes that I sped up and really did run 🏃♀️.
I usually go out on a trail near home but it has a few steep hills so I ended up on a residential road which is lovely and flat. Passers by must have thought I was mad towards the end... running (what felt like) full pelt with a big smile on my face and tears in my eyes.
Is this what “Runner’s high” feels like? I kind of want to go back out!!

That's brilliant! I hear all my runner friends talking about that high! I hope I eventually get to that place. Week 1 completed. Week 2 day 1 starts tomorrow.
I kinda wish I hadn't read what Iannoda says about week 6! However, I know I must just take it day by day and week by week and not get ahead of myself or I'll just give up.
Continue with the good work.
It’s a good feeling isnt it 😊 and you have cracked one of the biggest milestones on the program. Brilliant attitude, that if you didnt manage, it would be a practice run. You are well on your way to graduation!
