Feeling proud

I know others have much more to brag about but tonight I did my first run (well 8 short jogs) in c25k. I haven’t run ever and avoided it like the plague at school. I was always last and just felt so uncoordinated.

And I found I could complete it without dying and it even felt enjoyable to my great surprise!

Just need the motivation to complete what I’ve started now!

Just beginning is something to brag about! I've only just finished week 1 but I too am dead chuffed that I can manage it. I have since found out about the stretch exercises on rest days so may be have a look on the website for these. Well done though. Stick with it 😊 x

Congratulations on taking the first step on becoming a runner. The C25K programme is great so stick with it.

The feeling you get at the end of every session and every week is fantastic and when you graduate the feeling is totally unbelievable.

It also helps to be part of this forum as everyone is so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and are all so willing to give advice/motivation when needed.

Welcome to the programme 😃

Well done Janenz..and you are right to feel chuffed. You have completed Wk1 R1 which is the hardest one😉...

Keep going onwards and upwards.. and yes do the gentle stretches after your warm down walk while your muscles are still warm. Keep hydrated too! 😊...

I think that getting out and doing W1R1 is the biggest thing to brag about. It's the start of something amazing. Well done.

Well done, you won't regret it.

Have you read this guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... It may be helpful.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done indeed and proud of yourself you can be (sounds like Jedi Yoda... lol)! May the force be with you all along the journey ;-) If you follow the mentors' advice, slow and steady, even if you might find some runs harder than others, you will enjoy them. As for motivation, just post if you feel you're losing it: there'll always be some members to cheer you up and encourage you.

You are really in for a treat! You can't fail with this programme and you will amaze yourself, guaranteed. Also, the physical benefits, while substantial, are in my mind secondary to the mental benefits. Congrats for week one, you won't believe where you are in 8 weeks :-)
