So having spent the best part of two months following graduation 'consolidating' my 30 minute runs and managing my first 5k (taking 38 minutes) at the very end of the year, I've decided to use the new year to try and improve on my speed a bit.
This won't mean completely saying goodbye to my slow and steady runs through lovely countryside as I catch up on radio that I've missed - they work far too well as therapy and contrast for the ultra busy bits of my life - but it does mean that in amongst these I'm planning on mixing it up a bit so as to inject a bit more pace.
With all this in mind I set out this morning to explore the C25K+ stepping stone podcasts - deciding on the stepping stone one which promises to help increase my pace.
And...I actually quite enjoyed it. First because it made me feel that I don't generally run really slowly - I just don't maintain an even pace (which the podcast definitely helped with). Second I liked the fact (at least once I was finished) that it pushed me a bit at the end. And third it was wonderful to hear Laura tell me 'very well done' again 😊.
So all in all a good running start to 2018. Hope the New Year brings great runs for you all.

I'm in nearly the same boat. Graduated a few weeks back and have done a park run and about 4 or 5 5k's in 35-36mins generally. Your post has encouraged me to try the audio fuel podcasts for my next run on thursday.
Like you I have been doing the 30 min runs post-graduation . But feel quite sluggish post - Christmas and new year’s celebrations . I think I will carry on doing the same for at least a week before trying the c25k+ podcasts? I really need to push myself to go for a run today !
Well done! I must say I've postponed the 5K+ stepping stone programme: I listened to the first couple of minutes and hated the music lol! I also thought it was a bit too complicated for me. But your post is encouraging me to try.
