I don't think I've ever seen a time that high (admitted to) for a first 5K! But it felt great!
Nice slow shuffle jog - just breathing through my nose! Even sped up at the end a bit, just to test how I'd feel.
Didn't want to over do it, as it's well over my previous longest runs 3.5km or 38 mins. (Ironically the 38 minutes was a shorter distance than the 3.5km).
So I'll be working on pace over shorter distances and then perhaps do a 5K once every 3 to 6 runs and whittle down the time!
The 30 minute 5K still seems a long way off! But I'm still running and that's all that counts.

Congratulations !! Wonderful, my time wouldn't be far off...I run at 6.3 km/h. If it were dead on 6 it would be 50 minutes, so I'm only slightly quicker than you.
I think it's the running for 52 minutes that is impressive. And 5k on top of that ? Great stuff, really !
Well done. I reckon it's all about finding a pace that you are comfortable with. Running for 52 minutes. Wow. I'd love to be able to do that at any pace.
Wow I am impressed you could run for that long! I have only managed 37 minutes. Regardless of distance 52 minutes constant running/jogging/shuffling is a major achievement!
Wow! Congratulations. 52 minutes of running is a great cardio workout, regardless of distance covered. Thatโs very impressive, and of course youโre right to not push again and be careful.
Iโm sure there have been higher times for a first 5k reported, but as my ultra running buddy always says โ5k is 5kโ. Great job.
Continuing to run will of course improve you as a runner and a varied set of runs keeps it interesting. You now have a 5k PB that one day youโll break... and then youโll break the new one... and so on... but the most important thing is to keep loving it and keep coming back to those start lines.
Great stuff, hope you're feeling very proud of yourself! I'm still to make it to 5k so I am planning to go to my local Parkrun on Saturday morning and see how I get on. It is quite hilly, so I will be delighted to complete it running but also not too proud to walk some of it if I need to!
That's 52 minutes and 30 seconds of exercise so I think that is pretty stunning! I'm nowhere near being able to that as I'm so unfit. Well done, onwards and upwards.
Congratulations to you primaballerina on your 5K run, well done, I am sure you you enjoyed your run, onwards and upwards to more runs, perhaps you could run at a parkrun soon, you will be welcomed. ๐
Oh I wish AIMorr - there are no park runs here in Portugal (only 10 million people in the whole country!).... not even in Lisbon which is 3 hours from me...
Pity about that, you used to be a ballet dancer, hence your username, I love ballet music and various ballet's like Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty. ๐
Think of it this way: you can do Bridge to 10k for time, which works up to an hour, and be nearly there! ๐ Up the Tortoise ๐ข๐จ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐จ
Well done on your first 5k... mine wasn't that much quicker! What I've learned over my 21 weeks of running so far is that getting there safely is faaaar more important than getting there quickly. Speed may come later or it may not... but sure as eggs is eggs, if you continue to run you'll continue to feel great!
Thank you so much my lovely friends here on HealthUnlocked... you are so supportive and positive... I feel a million bucks having just done my slow-slow 5k... and got so many pats on my back so to speak!
