I’ve got runfection

Ping.....that was my eyes about 6am this morning...obviously Christmas is on my mind... it’s the last thing I think of when I close my eyes & the first thing I think of when I open them....but not this morning, oh no....it was, yes, you guessed it...running...can I fit a run in, including shower & ablutions before the school run?? Not if I lay here for much longer...so, before anymore minutes ticked by & before daylight began its journey through the blinds I crept out of bed, pulled on my Lycra, snook out of the door & locked it....I stood there for a moment before I turned everything on & wondered where I had got this strange behaviour from.....& wondered if I’d left Daddycav in bed thinking the same thing???!!!!!!! So, at 6:26 (a time I used to think there was only one of per day!!) I walked down my steps, turned left, walked for 7 minutes & then ran....I haven’t run on the main road for a while but there was absolutely no way I was going to venture into the deep dark park, where humans are not welcome, unless they’re hiding from the police!! It was good to remember my C25k journey along the main road....the greasy spoon must’ve just started up their frying pans as the smell of bacon & eggs disappeared up my nostrils as my lungs began their battle against me....next up, MacDonalds....how BUSY is it at that time in the morning???!!!! And why???!!! Still, I felt good to be running past, especially at that time but I did chuckle to myself at the confused looks I got...were they confused looks or were they wondering why a woman in pink is out running at this time?? Or, seeing as I hadn’t looked at myself before I set off, did I look like Alice Cooper as I forgot to take my makeup off before bed...!!! Well, whatever it was, I was only thinking good things...what a way to start the day...a run, shower & ablutions ✅ and all before the chaos of the morning!!! Happy running my lovely family...it’s nearly here now so whatever you’re doing & however busy you think you are, there is always a part of the day that sets itself aside just for you xxx

As much as I love running, I don’t think it could inspire me to get my rump out of bed at that time of the morning (ANY time of the morning if I’m honest)..!!

I know...I like it though...it’s like nothing I’ve ever done before! I’ve tried lots of different types of exercise but nothing has ever got me so hooked!!?! The sense of freedom...both in body & mind is incomparable to anything else!!! 😊

Yes...some schools finished last week...my youngest finished yesterday, the other two today x

I used to worry about you when you first graduated (and may have ticked you off a couple of times- sorry) because you were a bit driven and I felt that this would lead to burn out. NO MORE; what a lovely, entertaining run. That's the point- you were out there moving, wearing pink and inspiring the McD's customers, Mr Cav and all the little Cavs. Now I know that there are people here who will achieve really great things (including you btw) but it's important to ENJOY your running....Otherwise, what is the point????

I remember that too Hidden ..I felt a bit at a loss after graduation...like I had no direction & was just trying too hard..being too hard on myself..& yes, you did have words but only for my own benefit..& they were words of advice & experience that obviously worked! Losing my friend has made a difference too, I run because I can...& for the sheer enjoyment...try not to put too much pressure on myself, after all, life has enough pressures without adding to them...it’s the sense of freedom & life that get me out there now xx
