Reached wk 8 run 2 last night and managed to push all the way to 5k (in a smidge under 33 mins) 4 runs early. Got 3 runs to go before my official Park Run graduation on the 30th but knowing I can do it is an amazing feeling. Have not missed or failed a single run through fear of repeating a whole week and have lost around half a stone despite the festive gluttony. Has been a whole world of pain but massively satisfying. My message to everyone is if I can do it you really can do it. Hard part soon begins, how to keep the motivation post graduation

Congratulations MarrowFarmer - you must be very pleased.
When you say "a whole world of pain" bear in mind that the program is worked out to avoid injury. I don't blame you at all for pushing yourself today to do the whole 5k, and 33 minutes is a great time to have done it in, but just watch you don't try progressing in big chunks as a general rule; it could come back and bite you in the bum - or the shins, or the feet, or the knees, or...
But well done all the same. And I hope your parkrun graduation is great.

No this is the hard bit.... well done! After that you could aim for a 10k. I will be doing a new programme over in Bridge in the new year

Slow and steady, keeps you going.. even after Graduation Well done!

I agree with ju-ju- ...you’re doing the hard part now....after graduation, there’s no pressure...you can just run for the enjoyment, because you will know then that you can...enjoy what’s left of the programme & everything will fall into place 👍🏻😊
