Just keep running, get into a routine and stick with it. Every single run is building your stamina and running body so although some runs will still feel very hard, it's always, always worthwhile and adds to the running bank.
Well done. Keep posting too as that helps enormously 🙂
Did your consolidation runs eventually get a bit easier? I'm waiting for them to get to that stage so I can then pick up my pace a bit. I know they will never be effortless, but still...
Yes they do get easier but it takes time. Just stick to it.
I'm a bit unusual in that I kept to 5/6K runs for about a year with no intention to increase. It was only the lure of a 10K medal that got me running for further!
I had an absolute ball for that first year as I ran purely for pleasure and joy with no pressure and I still look back fondly to those days. That was 4.5 years ago and I'm still running 🏃🏃🏃
Aw that's wonderful! Yes I only really have time in the morning to do a 5K, but might start looking to do longer runs on the weekends in the summer. Am in no hurry though
That sounds a perfect plan. This running thing is for life and so there is no hurry. You have to make it part of you are now 🤗 Have fun and relish in the sheer joy of running 🏃🏃🏃
Finding some short, medium and long term targets for your running is a good way to keep up the interest and also get the buzz of achievement that C25K gives you each week.
Targets can be performance based, including pace, duration, distance etc. as well as event based or venue based.
Keep the short term targets very achievable and you will carry on smiling while you run.
