Cold weather skin! 🤔

Hi everyone

While still enjoying my running days, my skin is really suffering from this cold snap; sore red patches around my eyes and face generally, no matter what barrier cream I use.

Could anyone provide tips please? It’s pretty uncomfortable!

Thanks!

Louise

Get yourself a buff...it can be worn in many different ways but one of those is as a face protector from.the cold weather

Make sure you wear a cream with a high SPF, at least 20. All year round.

Every day I put on some serum before my moisturiser - I always had very dry skin but not since I started doing this.

And this one is exceptionally cheap yet good!

If you have a jar of coconut oil in the house, consider its use to nourish, protect and condition the skin upon your face, or any other areas that winter running creates discomfort and irritation.

I’ve always found it fantastic for maintaining the health of skin upon the feet, since regular running really can take its toll upon them.

It sounds to me (especially mention of sore red patches around the eyes) as though you may have a sensitivity not just to the cold wind but to the products you are currently using.

I'm a cheap serum fan like roseabi

I have recently began using Clinique Moisture Surge and have been surprised how well it works

I think it must because we have kids that we always reach for Vaseline or Sudocrem before anything else :D Vaseline is a good barrier and Sudocrem does help with recovery when your skin's been hard done to (although you can look a little ghostly if you are too generous with it!). It would be sensible to take extra care with using any products around your eyes though.

I use good old-fashioned Nivea, but it might be a be too greasy for a young lass like you. Try using a buff to protect your face and lips. My problem in the cold is my eyes which stream all the time, so look as if I'm crying!

oh mine do that too! I literally wept my way around 3km today in the wind, it's very annoying and I don't know how to stop it. Otherwise for face cream Weleda do a nice one called Skin Food which is very thick, I found it in the local health shop.
