Hello everyone, I made it to the 7th week and was running for 25 mins and got flu and now have skipped a week. So now should just start my 8th week routine or repeat 7th week again? Thanks
Missed 1 week : Hello everyone, I made it to the... - Couch to 5K
Missed 1 week
If it was me I'd move on to week 8 and give it a go
Yes, as Rolysmate, give it a go. I ran the 30mns this morning after a week off because of a bad cold and I felt fine. I could have run a bit more but still recovering and have to make sure I can go to work. So, see how it goes, start gently and steady.
Move on. You will be fine. A week off won't set you back much, if at all. I had a week break in the middle of week 9 and finished no problem.
Well done folks... I cant believe that I am running😳
In all honesty see how you go and adapt following your body. I was at the same point as you and came down with laryngitis then a heavy cold. My 1st run out, after feeling better, I struggled but did what my body told me to do so ran walk ran. Only took 2 runs to get me back on track.
The same has happened to me a couple of times & I've been in 2 minds as well. On each occasion, I decided to go for it on the basis that I had nothing to lose & that if it didn't work out, I could just repeat one of the earlier runs till I felt up to it again. As it happened, I'd say that rather than having lost fitness, I'd benefitted from the break & had no trouble at all. So I'd say, give it a go, keep an open mind & see! Good luck
I’m pretty much in the same position as you. Completed week 6 and then got laid low by cystitis. Decided yesterday that (not having run for a week) I’d better do a run as I don’t want to lose it.
I set off on the same route as last time, but with a 30 minute zombie run 'tape' on. It didn’t have any walk / run prompts and I just walked when I felt I needed to (obvs at the beginning, but then again at the worst short hill).
Thankfully it didn’t increase my symptoms and the run didn’t seem any harder for the gap. Next time I’ll pick up with the program again.
