Hi you lovely lot ,My eldest daughter wants to start the programme I did wk 1 with her this morning , it should have been my run day today but she wants me to do it with her . We took it very steady . My question is this , will I be ok to run my usual 5k tomorrow I'm in good health and no aches &pains. . Just thinking I won't be having a rest day , but as I said it's very gentle at moment at his stage.

You will probably get away with it, Rockette, but don't underestimate how quickly the plan ramps up, so I would not make a habit of it.

Just at the beginning maybe...I agree with IannodaTruffe .. all too easy to over stretch it, even when we feel fine:)

Great for your daughter though, starting with us, and we will all run with her too :)

I leave the advice to those that know better! But well done - another would be runner recruited. She must have seen how well you did on the programme. What a great motivation that is

When my daughter did the programme, we ran in an area where we could see each other (laps of the field), but each did our own half hour. Turn around and run back to each other occasionally, those high fives are great!

Go for it - I am doing the same with my daughter (age 13). I have done both her runs and my post-grad runs in the early weeks without any problems.

For those of you who offered suggestions on how to motivate her, I ignored her and it worked! Now she tells me when she wants to run and I fit in around her. She is my priority. Her next run is run 3 week 5 - the non-stop 20 minutes. I might treat myself to a rest day after that!
