Wondered if there is any dedicated week 5 or 6 forums for c25k! For some reason even though I'm not running faster I have found week runs 1 and 2 really hard and 25 minutes seems like a mountain in 2 days time!
Is there a week 6 forum?: Wondered if there is... - Couch to 5K
Is there a week 6 forum?
I sympathise with you greatly. There are many who have found W6 hard. In fact I would say Runs 1 and 2 were my least favourite of the whole programme. On the plus side though W6R3 was brilliant. It will give you an opportunity to get into a nice unbroken rhythm with no stop/ starting. Expect a few minutes to get into your stride. The first 5-1o mins of any run can be hard as your body adjusts to the workload placed upon it. But after this time your heart rate will settle as will your breathing and you can relax, take it nice and easy and just keep going. Feel the wind in your face and get into the moment.
Don't think about the time. If you start to wane, then slow down, focus on getting a bit further - maybe to the end of the road, then a bit further still - the next lampost, etc.
Before you know it the time will be up.
Hi FFF, no, there is not a specific sub-forum for week 5 or 6.
This forum does have the concept of 'Topics' but I do not think that this works on the mobile app, only accessing the site through a web browser. A 'topic' is just a collection of posts about the same subject. When you submit a post online, you can assign it to one of 11 Topics ("Week 1", ... "Week 5", "All things C25K" etc). When browsing the forum through a web browser, you can filter the posts by topic... so if you want to see posts that were assigned to topic "Week 5" then you just click the Week 5 link and voila!
But this feature only works from the online interface (not the App) and so there are only about 1300 posts assigned to topic "Week 5". And not every post is assigned to a topic anyway.
I'll load a screen-grab in a new post.
Incidentally, there are about 1000 posts in each topic for each week. Week 1 has the most - 1700 ("I've started!!!"), Week 9 the next 1400 ("I've graduated!!") and Week 5 the next 1300 ("Is that right!!???").
Don’t worry! It’s normal at this point to find it heavy going. Just go nice and steady and you’ll nail the sessions. If you can get over the week 6 hump then you’re over the worst
Hang in there! 👍🙂
Thanks all
Hi I've just completed W6. It felt intimidating before setting off, especially R3. As with all exercise the first 10 mins can be the hardest bit. I use music to distract telling myself that it's just 8-10 tracks worth of running. I got into a nice consistent rhythm and completed the week straightforwardly enough, I'm sure you will too 😀 Such a good program, good luck
Just relax and take it,as advised..slow and steady.. you will do it!
