My first snowy run, post lurgie, haven't been out for a full week! Pulled out my phone to check, it said 5.8k and 49:20 and then it went completely dead from the cold !!! So annoying as I lost all my zombie supplies too.
I stopped running and walked home...

Frosty and 1 degree here today. I would love to run in snow! Well done; glad you're feeling better
Wow, that's a good long run! Pleased to hear that you are feeling better, Elizabeth. But sorry about your phone dying on you. Tsk. Technology fails us sometimes. x
Previously when I was winter running, I also struggled with my phone dying from the cold. Now I run with a flipbelt and my phone is up against my body under 2 tops and a jacket. It stays nice and toasty warm and survives the cold weather just fine. My last run was a 10k at -16C that took just over 70 minutes and the phone (and myself π) held up just fine. Running in cold snowy conditions is possible, but requires a bit of rethinking the running gear. If you are running on snowy or icy roads, also consider getting some form of traction grippers. I don't use running specific ones, just cheap ones that have little metal posts in a rubber framework that I can slip over my running soles if the ground is snow covered.
It sucks to lose all your data from your run, so hopefully this will help
Yes! It was a good run. I felt really good up until 4k, then slogged bravely on to 5.25k where my legs decided they'd have a short walk, and after about 30 seconds were able to pick up again. I am doing go go gadget legs quite well now!
So good to have you back with us!π It's so frustrating to lose data like that, but losing zombie supplies is really bad! π£I set out one time and forgot to start the next mission, so I did the same one again and picked up more underwear than I really needed!π
Thank you. I then went on a bike ride (just to a coffee shop, i promise!) but it was about 20 mins each way. I am well and truly done in. Snoresville here I come.
