Am so relieved to have got out today and as my ankle was feeling so much better decided to give it a go. I went on a different route, one that my husband runs regularly, as itβs pretty much all flat; apparently itβs an old railway line but is wide and now tarmac and a well trodden path for walkers πΆcyclists π΄ββοΈ and runners πββοΈ I felt strangely out of my comfort zone as Iβve only cycled it once and didnβt recognize anything or have any landmarks to gauge how far Iβd run as Iβve been used to on my previous runs. I started well but had a tech issue π¬ when my music stopped π© but even worse Jo paused herself π± This completely threw me and this happened 3 times before I worked out that it was the connection between my phone and the plug in ear buds. Unbelievably I managed to keep on running without falling over π and rectified the problem π I didnβt feel as though I was going too fast but did keep telling myself periodically to slow down π’π Earth, Wind and Fire told me to βglide like a 747β not quite the same vision as the βswanβ and βgazelleβ Iβve heard others aspiring to run like this week but Iβll take it π© A lady walking passed going in the other direction gave me a huge smile and a look of admiration that gave me a huge boost π
I still had to run a bit uphill towards the end of the run but made it home in one piece having covered 4.3 km in the 30 mins and ankle feeling not too bad at all π
All being well I shall do R3 on Sunday.... graduation feels like a long time coming, I have every sympathy for those on the injury couch π
Good luck to everyone out there running this weekend πββοΈπ and MinnieMoo....which day are you going?... I could ride shotgun.....??????
