I set off on the first 5mins too quick and felt the calves start to tighten....won’t do that again. After the walk I slowed it down a tad for the 8min stint and felt a lot better for it, same went for the last 5min Run!
Feeling comfortable and raring to go for Day 2 🤗
Happy running guys 🏃🏃♀️😊

Week 6 already, Ted! How time flies like an arrow! A beautiful day for a run indeed. I wish I could have got out, but am on a much-needed rest day. How is your breathing now?
My breathing? Well, I’m still alive so I must still be doing it lol Seriously though, I went out a bit quick today and felt it a bit but after adjusting my pace, I got thru the rest comfortably. I’ve perfected a breathing technique that works for me so onwards and sideways we go 😀
"Onwards and sideways"?! Like a crab?! Ho ho ho! Glad you have your breathing all sorted, Ted. Now, don't forget the ole slow and steady rule!
I still have a very mildly twingy hip but am working on it, and still running 30 mins post grad. Taking 2 days rest here and there when I feel like it. All good. 😀
I’ve been using a different C25K app up til now, saw your forum online. I was using the Zen Labs version which differs slightly from W6 on.....I’m using the appvyou’re all using now, with Michael Johnson’s coaching!
I plan to run the 5k sometime during W9...maybe R2 or 3, I have the Charity Run the following week so will want to have completed 5k beforehand!
Hi Ted! Well done on making a great start to wk6. Yes, isn't it a perfect autumn day for a run? (I'm in Kent, where are you?) I've just got back to my desk after doing wk5r2 at lunchtime, and have to admit I really enjoyed it. The two 8 mins runs weren't as hard as I thought they'd be and I even ran for a little longer on the second as, because somehow I managed to pause the programme at the start and had walked for longer than the 5 mins warm-up before I realised, so was further out than I should have been at the half-way bell, if you see what I mean. I wish I could say I'm raring to go for the next run but it's the dreaded r3 next and the prospect is more than a little daunting as it seems like a big step up; anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed for weather like today.
It is just another run which has got itself a reputation for some reason... take it slow and steady and you will do it Each run makes you stronger and prepares you for the next !
Well done you... I roll my calf muscles.. still building back up after a calf muscle tear...! My post run treat...crushed avocado on home made bread.. with an egg on top!
