W6R1 hardest yet

So I ran W5R3 on Friday and felt amazing. I’ve never ever run in my life and I’m absolutely loving it. I’m incredibly slow but I feel elated that I manage to complete every run and my theory is better to be slow and finish than have to stop. However, I’ve just done my first run of week six and feel a little demoralised as I found it really hard. Has anyone else found this?

Loads of us found this run hard - especially after all the glory of completing Wk5 R3. Despite there being a walking break in there you're moving more than you have before.

Certainly don't feel demoralised - you'be done it and and are moving ever closer to graduation.

Definitely the hardest of all the runs for me. Lots of comments on here about how this catches you unawares. It's in the bag now so onwards you go 👏

You’re so right, I think I was definitely feeling the glory of week 5 so guess I was expecting to find this one easy!

Some runs are hard, some are more manageable...and this is true for the runs during C25K and beyond! Please don't be demoralised, you are doing so well to have come this far, and you have plenty of lovely runs to come.

Some of my "easiest" runs were in week 8 and 9 - I graduated a couple of weeks ago. Today I ran 30 mins and had to really dig deep and I found it hard. <Shrugs shoulders> Sometimes that happens, and I am learning to except that now - just! But I ran, and that contributed to my continued fitness. And I still had the post run glow.

We are all runners in training. 😀 You did it, be proud, and keep doing what you are doing! 😘

Few more weeks and I’ll be joining you as a graduate too - it’s a brilliant course

Don’t worry, like many worthwhile things, it gets a bit harder before it gets easier. You are pushing your threshold a bit and in some if those later weeks you will feel it. But don’t feel disheartened. You made it through this tough run, right? One run at a time. The fact that it makes you so happy is half the battle🙂

Almost everyone finds this. My mistake was thinking I managed week 5 so week 6 run 1 would be easy in comparison. So I set off too fast and almost didn't finish.
