Got to start somewhere!: Doing C25K! Running... - Couch to 5K
Got to start somewhere!
Well done.
Please don't try to fit a nine week training plan into the next four weeks, otherwise your chances of doing your 5k run are pretty small, unless you bring a high degree of fitness to the process. Injury comes almost exclusively from pushing your body beyond what it is used to, so do be careful.
We can only recommend that you follow the plan and accept that you will have to walk some of the 5k race.
Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.
Many thanks for the excellent advice, you are so right. I would have liked to have got fit enough to run π the 5K but agree it is a huge ask of my body. What I have gotten out of my first week so far, is how much I am enjoying it. My son has been helping me.. He is a hard task master lols π I was challenged to do this by my friend and I am so glad that she did as I never turn down a challenge. π
Glad you are enjoying it. Just do whatever is the next run when you get to your 5k and then walk the rest. It's a good cause but not necessary to injure yourself to support it. Keep going and keep enjoying it.
