Graduation is here!!!

I made a last minute decision to get out and try my final run last night. Whew! I made it and I've graduated! This app was perfect for me. I have never ever run (I'm 56 years old) and I have never been any type of athlete.

Someone told me about this app, I downloaded it and didn't do anything with it for a few months. Then I decided to try it. Thinking back, I couldn't run 2 minutes without stopping! And now, here I (and all of you out there) can (or will) run for 30 minutes!

Now, I am going to work on improving my time since I'm not exactly running a 10-minute mile.

Onward and upward everyone!

Well done, I’m 56 too and although I love Zumba I’ve never liked running (I’m a group activity person) but like you I’ve (almost) cracked it (wk 9)!

The best thing, as you say, is the looking back & revering thinking “I’ll never manage 2min run!” -well done for doing it with motivation 👍🏼

Yet another 56 year old here. Graduated in September and still running ( not as often as I should) can’t believe I took up running as I’m not sporty at all but really enjoy it . Keep running!!

Well done you it is a great feeling isn’t it! Get your graduation badge. I am a 57 year old who has never run before or gone to the gym and I am now doing both 3 times a week! Couldn’t run a minute in May without thinking I was going to collapse and now can run 5K! This app is fab and really works! I aim on doing a Parkrun as often as I can as well as I really enjoy pushing myself. Enjoy your graduation moment and keep on running xx

Virginia60, how do I get my badge? I didn't see this anywhere? And, I've been meaning to ask - what is a PARKRUN? I see everyone posts about a parkrun but I don't know what that is(?) Congrats to you too for sticking with it! Thank you!

Or if you’re using the App, go to the correct Community page and the Graduation Post will be in Pinned Posts is at the top of the page.

Hi if you scroll down the page and click on pinned posts there is a heading their Graduation Badges and you leave a message and one of the administrators gives you a link. Parkrun is a free 5K run every Saturday morning at 9am all around the country. If you google it you should find one near to you. They are a good way of running for 5K with other runners. I really enjoy it even though there are far more faster runners than I! Have a go! xx

Well done Jenny!!

I'm a similar age to you, and am loving the freedom and happy feeling running gives me. If only we'd known we could run years ago eh?😎

Yes, I would have loved to have started running much earlier but now it's quite the sense of accomplishment at our age!
