Well, I was going to have 2 days rest and complete C25K tomorrow, but you know me, keen bean, I woke up super early so thought, let's get out there! Another nice 30 minutes run in the peaceful early morning darkness. Pace and breathing nicely established now, so in a way, this was just another run to me. Have no idea of my distance or pace, as independent of me, Map My Run decided not to log any data today. Today of all days! No bother - I ran a steady pace for 30 mins and felt good and that's what counts, right?
Strangely, not feeling particular elated about finishing. I am proud I finished the programme, and I am LOVING running! I think I felt most elated when I finished the first 30 minute run. After that? I was just running, you know, cos that's what I do!
There is no way, I believe, that I would have got here without the support of you lovely people. Seriously, you have cheered me on, consoled me, offered me good advice (that has enabled me to get to this point), and you have made me laugh and laugh. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I truly value the friendships I have made on here and I truly cheer you all on too, wherever you are in the programme and beyond.
And 316neil, keep up your knee strengthening exercises, okay. I will be watching you. I am not going anywhere (other than 3 x 30 runs a week. π)

Sadie Runs Indeed! Very well done π on graduating. Enjoy the running because you can. Give you a pat on the back π
Thanks Helen! It just seems to have all come together in the last two weeks. I actually feel like a runner when I run, if you know what I mean! ππββοΈ
Thanks Ted! 10k? Hmmm maybe next year! I want to do a bit of consolidation first. A regular running routine of 30 mins 3 x week, maybe work a bit on pace. Then yes, never ever thought I would consider it, but I would love to train for 10k.
But mostly I run for the joy of it, so pace, distance not my sole focus.
And I will be checking in regularly I.e every day, to see how you are doing and cheer you on, my friend. π
Thanks misswobble! I am going to take running with me wherever I go. Apart from San Francisco. Too many hills, some almost completely vertical! Thank you for your support and good wishes. xxx
But busy! I cycled across it in June - beautiful! I was thinking Golden Gate Park for when I go back for work next year - but don't know if that's flat. Probably not! π±
Thank you! So happy I found running and this place. x
Well I was just about to reply to your reply to me (if you see what I mean) and somehow knew that you would have got out there and done it. And you certainly did!
Congratulations doesn't even cover it, really really well done. I am incredibly proud of you. You've worked so hard and totally deserve your crown!
Thanks also for your concern for me, I couldn't have kept going without you.
Enjoy that glow!! And watch out behind, I'm on your tail!!
Thank you so much, dearest Neil. I feel like you have been with me this entire running journey, and your "cheering on" and having such faith in me has always meant so much!
Yup, you are not far behind, and I will be cheering you on all the way! Not far to go now, buddie. x
Aw, my HITC, thank you so much! Totally bloody nailed it for sure!
It has been lovely interacting you with you on this forum of late; you really make me laugh! I will definitely be watching over you the next couple of weeks, but totally confident you will do this. If you ever need cheering on/telling off/a pep talk, I'm your gal.
Woo hooooooo! Well done to you!! It's amazing isn't it to be a runner! I didn't feel that elated at the time either it came slowly to me over the next couple of months as I got to grips with life after c25k. Good luck with your new journey ππββοΈπ
Oh I am glad I am not the only one! I was a bit worried β like, what is wrong with me! But, I think it is because I have been feeling pretty high since week 8, really. Looking forward to my consolidation runs. Thank you, dearest, for always supporting me! x
You've really done great at this and if you dont believe me, go back and have a read of some of your earlier posts. I think your very first post pretty much summed up the great attitude that has been with you throught all of this.
'I am going to keep on running, I am determined to get fit, and really enjoying the programme'
So well done you! And dont be too sure about leaving it too long before you want to start reaching for that 10K.
Aw, thanks buddy! And thank you for being a great source of support, inspiration and not least, entertainment.
Now you mention it, I have been pretty positive throughout C25K. No idea how I mustered that up, I am not known as an especially positive person! I think my timing was right; I needed this running lark in my life, and I wanted to give it my best shot. I soon discovered that running makes me ridiculously happy, and happiness is very addictive.
Watch this space. I bet I start my 10k training sometime in the new yearβ¦am thinking early spring. I have lots of mini-goals before that though, so will keep motivated!
Very well done and yes I understand your lack of elation though I suppose that 3rd time just proves it's not been a fluke (threes a charm) and yes another runner that shows/proves the value of cto5k
Thank you, rolysmate. I know this makes me sound like a weirdo, but I have been quite elated throughout the 9 weeks, so my finishing elation was not such a high. Besides, in a way, I feel like I am just beginning my exciting running future. Flipping heck! I never anticipated loving running so much. β€οΈ
Very well done you! Massive congratulations... NOW it begins.... loads of consolidation, different routes and distance and 30 minute runs too.. then think of moving onwards.. But for now bask in the glory!!!!
Thank you, darling Flossie. Your "slow and steady" mantra truly made a difference to my journey. You have helped me so so much...I cannot begin to thank you enough!
And yes, the plan is definitely consolidation. I have a spreadsheet all ready for the next two months. π I want to get to 5k, in the short term (am not far off), but most of all, my aim is to continue to enjoy my 30 minute runs. New routes is a great idea though! And I have lots of 30 minute Zombie missions to enjoy. π±
Yipeeeeeee....well done Sadie-runs ...Sadie definitely runs brilliantly!!! I shall have a clink & a drink to you later....itβs been great watching you progress through the weeks & become the expert runner that you are ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ Xxxx
Thanks Mummycav, but I am no where near an expert runner yet. But I am a cheery one. π Serendipity and double joy today - one of my team bought me a bottle of prosecco today for "being a lovely boss". When I told them I had completed C25K today he was so happy for me! I am happy I have some fizz to celebrate with tonight! I am a very lucky gal! xxx
The next run is just for you, just for fun, just because you can πππππππππππππππππππππππππ
CONGRATULATIONS Sadie!! You graduated! You reached your goal, I bet you didnβt feel it possible at the very beginning. Well, you did it!!!!! I hope youβre feeling hugely proud of yourself.
Thank you for all the support that youβve given me and the many others on this forum too. I feel the same way you do about the support on here but please remember that you are a big part of that!
Oh lord, tearing up here now! πͺ Overwhelmed at all the lovely messages!
Thank you so much for your lovely words, Sadie! It has been a pleasure cheering you on; I always check for your posts and enjoy watching you progress.
I will stay a regular on here, for sure. I am still a "beginner" in terms of running, but feel I have some experience of this programme at least to be able to support folk. And it is such a lovely community of people, too.
I chose the name "Sadie-runs" as I wanted to start with a positive spirit. It has really carried me. π
Thank you LordOberon! Planning my first post-grad run for tomorrow or Sunday. Now it's going to be all about maintaining the regularity of runs - and the enjoyment! π
Wow, wow And Wow. How blooming marvellous. Congratulations on graduating but more so congratulations on finding your happy place as a runner. Look at all the possibilities itβs opened up for you. I find myself driving around familiar places thinking βooo I could hereβ so many new and exciting routes to discover and I hope you stay just ahead of the zombies on every single one of them x
Aw, thanks so much Ren! I am hoping to find some new routes, but most of all, cannot wait to get back in my park at the weekend. It is huge, so I can get quite a lot of variety (including the small inclines I have been avoiding throughout C25K). Zombies do not stand a chance with me now. x
Well done you enjoy your graduation. Enjoy carrying on running because we are now runners! I will raise a glass to all the graduates of this week. Such an inspiring group to belong to xx
