Goodness that was a bit tougher but it was an early morning run and as I have rheumatoid arthritis mornings are never easy for me. Still, no matter how bad a run it is, it is another session completed. It is very foggy out there so if you are heading out this morning a torch is a must. Happy running
Week 2 day 1: Goodness that was a bit tougher... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 day 1
Well done you!
Make sure that you really warm up well on the early runs. I rub my legs and my ankles and feet, really really well, even before getting out of bed..( Old age and general ache) Then a good ten minute routine before heading out too.
Stretch well after the run and remember that the non impact exercise on rest days is going to help too.
Many of us used these exercises alongside C25K..they are fairly gentle;

I assume you have checked the info on here out too.. really useful
The main thing is, as you probably already do, listen to your body and take it very slowly and steadily... you are doing wonderfully.. and these dark mornings it is not easy. I graduated, the week before Christmas in 2015... pitch black, all manner of wind and weather,but it was great fun
A head torch is really useful and remember your high viz gear too.. I have a very sassy flashing belt
Enjoy your day.. what a great start!
Thanks, Oldfloss, great advice, thank you. I hadn't come across those sites so will have a good look after breakfast. After an early morning run I'm all set up for a day studying and writing. Goodness, well done you graduating in the winter. I shall remember that when the body cries for an extra ten minutes in bed
Welcome.. there are some really motivational stories on the RA site too, about running. I suffer too, but not too badly!
I loved the running in the dark.. and coming up to Christmas was magical..I had some really funny times, especially across the lanes and the fields...
It really is worth getting up.. the start to the day is fantastic
