Cripes that was hard. Think I’m best in the mornings rather than after a 10 hour shift with very little sleep the night before worrying about it! And breathe.... all done! Proper chuffed ☺️
Week 2 Day 1! : Cripes that was hard. Think I’m... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 Day 1!
Well done for completing week 2's 1st run RiaT 😊
It comes as no surprise that you might just be better running before work, yes, I do on average 12k steps a day at work and I definitely prefer running before that than attempting to do so after.
Keep yourself rested from running and well hydrated and hopefully, especially with some more sleep, your 2nd and 3rd runs should be a bit more easy for you.
Try not to worry, I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine as long as you don't try to run quickly, just keep it slow and steady 🏃♀️👍
Thanks Mike! I’ll keep going but yes, think it’ll have to be the 6am runs when I’m working early shifts! 😩
Just been reading about the Japanese Slow Jog! I think that’s what I do anyway!! Nice comfy speed for me at the moment so I’m definitely slow! Thanks again Mike ☺️
For me to run before work RiaT I've got to start running from 5:30 at the latest 😲👍
I am trying to wake up earlier to sort out my poor sleeping pattern anyway, so it's not too shabby.
That Japanese slow jog (JSJ) is proving to be very popular at the moment, and it's definitely the right thing for you to do if that's what you're comfy with. Just don't be surprised when you have to stop jogging at start walking if your walking pace is quicker than your jog, that's perfectly normal.
I’ve just done week 2 day 1. Glad it’s done lol
Have you? How did you find it?
It was easier than week 1 day 1 and I really enjoyed it but parts of it were challenging
Welcome to the forum FridaK , and well done for completing week 2 run 1 👏🏻😊
I wish you all the best with your runs too. If you've not already, have a read of healthunlocked.com/couchto5..., the administrators say it is essential reading 🙂
Does it get easier??? Just did week 1 run 3... and was not feeling it at all... tired, out of breath so much, aching knee. Really not thinking I can work up to week 2, 90 seconds running!!
Well done Ria, honestly, you'll be looking back at this in 5 weeks saying "I can't believe how far I've come" It's amazing.
Crikey. It’s hard to imagine but I’ll give it my best shot! Thank you
