Week 1 Day 2 Drowned Rat

Well just completed 2nd run, face beetroot, lungs burning and soaked to the skin.... but.... feeling good!! 😎.

I think I could do with some clothing advice please... I got completely soaked today, I wore hoody and leggings, and I was drenched within 5 mins!! Well at least it may have kept me a little cooler.... but I must have looked ridiculous! Do I need to purchase a coat of some sort? And maybe a cap.... I had rain dripping in my eyes the whole time!!

I'm now beginning to cool down, a bit chilly actually, so Its bath time for me.

Happy running folks!

Bud x

I bought myself some running trousers and a running top plus a "showerproof jacket" but just run in the trousers and top, once you're wet you're wet

But a big well done you for not being put off and getting out there, shows determination and courage

Have to agree the more clothes in the wet weather the harder it seems .... I do love a cap though !!

The clothing has to be technical that wicks moisture! All running gear should be made from it these days and thankfully is cheap

I got a hooded run jacket for Β£6.99 and a cap with a light in the brim fir Β£3.99 πŸ˜ƒ From Aldi. Wearing both now as I head out πŸ™‚

Run tights, again dri-fit fabric. You don't want to be wet and cold, which you will be if you don't get the right gear. It's cheap as chips so no worries I like Ron Hill tights and they do a warm version fir winter. Nike are good too. Lidl stuff is ace!

Wow Aldi / Lidl... sounds good! Is it instore all the time or is it an online thing?! Thanks

I had a look on Aldi but nothing in my size.... so I'll have to hope it comes in store soon!

With the humidity at the moment you don't need a waterproof jacket as you will get just as wet inside the jacket. I just go out in shorts and a technical top and make sure my phone is in a plastic bag.

Yes good idea about phone, mine got damp today!

I beat ya. Lol. My 2nd run of week one I ended up knee deep in cow poo. (Long story). It didn't stop me either. I bet I looked dafter. πŸ„πŸ‚

After working hard on the farms for years I can say that you'll cook in your own sweat in anything remotely "waterproof" and go home just as wet as if you'd not worn it. Lol

Lol!!! Cow poo certainly beats me!! I need something not so absorbable as my hoodie just looked ridiculous but I would have been too cold in just a T shirt....

They have run stuff sales twice a year and someone will always know when one is on 😁

A cap... essential for sun and rain and snow and hail :)

Rain..it is just wet... and you get a great hot shower when you get in too :)

If it isn't cold.. just your top and leggings.. I have a really lightweight showerproof jacket, breathable.. but often end up too warm.

Well done you!!!

I like to take a jacket with me if only for the walk home. Also I was glad of my jacket when I fell flat on my face. You soon start getting cold once you stop running.

Well, I've bought myself an illuminous pink jacket from sports direct!! I have to say I look ridiculous in it!! Not tried it out for running yet but I think it will mostly be tied around waist and used to keep phone/keys in!!

Not what you're looking for?
