So for the first run of the week I thought I would try a different route - it started well, I don't like to go anywhere too dark and keep to main roadways. However I was heading through a sort of housing area with a lot of roundabouts and oops somewhere during my 2nd 5 minute run I started running downhill a lot, well I was enjoying my music etc and didn't think for a while but it was not the right way so of course by the time I got out my phone to figure out where I was (in the walk) I then had to start my last run heading back up the piggin hill! So anyway super pleased to have finished it (with an extra 5 minute walk at the end and quick call to hubs to let him know I'd not been attacked)!
Today I've just done run 2 (back to usual route) wasn't sure what this would be like but I actually enjoyed it and I think the breathing thing is getting easier with the longer runs maybe?!
Anyway bring on run 3!!

I thought my hubby might’ve rolled his eyes at me when I started all this it actually, he’s proper proud too, I knew it when I did my first park run & he surprised me at the finishing line....he’s as amazed at me as I am!!! Lol...good ole hubbies!!! 😍
Urgh! Hills! I know I’m going to have to tackle them at some point!! I keep telling myself I’ll face them when I’m fitter (just got in from w5r1). Right now if I face a hill I swing around and go in the opposite direction!! That keeps my runs somewhat limited here in South Wales!! My hubby rolls his eyes when he found out I’ve been avoiding the hills, he’s an ultra runner (just completed the 50 miler around the Gower!!), and here’s me avoiding a slight incline!! 😂😂😂😂
Love your hill avoidance technique! I do try to run on the flat as much as possible though I am amazed at what I can do after 5 weeks, feel a bit embarrassed by lack of effort to increase my fitness before! Have you ideas of joining in with your hubby's long runs?
