Well done, I did my first one this Saturday too and the people were brill! I was so nervous, were you?

Did mine in 40:33 time which like you was a walk/run. Now I’m more nervous about the next one in case I’m last in again on a poor time! I want to be able to beat my time but am nervous to even try!

I got so parched too, did you take a drink? Thinking it wise but don’t want to carry a bottle really

Please slow down.. running 5K in a Park run this early in the programme is not a great idea.

Not sure which week you are on and in your last post you were suffering with shin splints? Are you on Week 4 ... you really need to be hitting at least week 6 before even thinking of walk/running a Park Run.

We see too many folk heading for the IC..please slow down.

It was a lot more walking than jogging

Fine.. :)

I think doing Park run is fine at any stage as long as you are prepared to walk run whichever week you are on. Don't be tempted to run longer than the programme says but no harm in a cool down walk longer than 5 minutes.

That makes sense..:) But quite a few folk, at the moment. are running the whole things.. sometime before Week 4... which is not sensible:)

I’m on week 8 (5,28,5) & found it tough BUT i needed the group thing to spur me on, which is why I decided to do it.

It was good in that it didn’t feel like a race or anything -it just felt supportive and friendly-no one had expectations of me except me, which is why the next one will be tougher cos I want to do better BUT I know I need to pace. I’m gunna go with the smile, enjoy, run/walk & make friends attitude.

It was amazing to see old, young, less able bodied and serious runners all supporting if each other!
