I'm new here but been stalking for a while! The advice given is very good so I'm looking for some help.
I completed W8R1 today and felt ok, I'll run W8R2 on Wednesday, hopefully. Just wondering wether it would be advisable to run my local park run this week or wait until the following week when I should have finished the C25K course?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
Do parkrun by all means......it is a brilliant movement.......but we recommend that you stick to the plan and just do your programmed run, just so that you are not tempted into doing too much too soon.
Do it, do it, do it, parkrun is for everyone, you don’t have to be at any specific stage, you can walk it all if you want. Lots of people use it as one of their planned ‘runs’ in C25K, include your warm up walk. Go along, join in, enjoy! - and don’t forget your barcode....
There will be all sorts there, all ages, all shapes and sizes, there will be a briefing for newcomers/first timers, you can approach anyone, but if your not sure go for someone in a high vis vest, the rundirector will have a blue/white vest - they’re all fantastic volunteers who make the thing happen every week....
It can be easy to get swept up in the event and the buzz of happy runners, especially if you normally run on your own. 😸
Parkrun usually have Tail Walkers. They stay at the back and look after you or whoever is last. Go without any preconceptions and post your experience of the day on the forum.
Thanks for the advice, undecided whether to run or not but will definitely do so before Christmas, barring injury.
I run with my wife who is on week nine and fitter than me but we’ll do our first together. She’s keen to run but wait for a week. My times are good, I use a Garmin 35 to time runs, but tend to just plod along at a very comfortable pace.
I left parkrun till my last run on week 9 and it felt special because it was an actual 5k distance and all the support and well done you get from the volunteers.
Be careful though, because parkrun is addictive! 🏃🏻♀️💪🏻
Well, I did it. My first park at Aberbeeg. I took it very steady and plodded along despite the leading runners departing from the starting line as if the hounds were chasing them! There was a young woman about 50 yards in front of me the whole way and I couldn’t flaming catch her. I’d like to think that I inspired her to her PB.
Very enjoyable and I’ll be back.
Oh, the time, 30.55, a pb will be difficult but challenging. Looking forward to Saturday, and thanks again for all the advice given freely on this forum.
