Hi guys. Im just wondering if any ladies can give me any advice. Ive tried many deodorants but am starting to think im the problem ππ. Shops sell mens sport deodorants but not for ladies. Ive not had this problem before i started running.
Thanx.

What type of top are you running in ? i run in proper running (wicked) tops and i don't have that problem but if i run in a normal t shirt i sweat badly.
I don't wear any deodorant when I run but don't care. I have a bath after so I know I'm clean
There is a deodorant available from the chemist via a prescription I believe, but unless you're running with others I wouldn't worry about It. We all swear like pigs out there
I just sweat, I'm exercising, I'm supposed to. The evaporation in a vest is fine and of course keeps me cool as I definitely run hot.
If it's smell... it might be clothes... I get that issue from being lazy π and not hanging my stuff to dry (if it can't be washed straight away).
I like to use deodorant (not anti perspirant!) from Lush (no packaging π), which seems to keep a lid on the smell otherwise for me, but I know it's not for everyone. I thought Sure did an 'active'/sporty 'ladies' anti-perspirant? I've just been known to use men's stuff on occasion tho.
So, is your concern because you're sweating so much or because you smell?
We all sweat when we exercise, that's normal and some people sweat more than others. There's nothing you can do about that nor should you as it shows your body is working as it should.
If your concern is that you smell and you only notice is when you run then maybe it's your clothes. Apparently we should wash running gear at 60 degrees to get rid of the bacteria. Also, our sweat smell is dictated by what our diet is like. So if you eat a lot of highly spiced foods for example then your sweat might be a bit more pongy than someone whose diet consists mostly of veg, nuts, fruit etc.
I've heard that Mitcham deodorant is stronger than most other types and you can buy that from a chemist.
But if you are otherwise healthy then I wouldn't worry about it. I sometimes really smell after a long sweaty run and once I got back home and wondered what the smell was and then realised it was me! But it's all normal and we all do it and it just shows that our bodies are being used properly π
Hi Mitcham is supposedly one of the best tough working ones. But it could well be your clothing, and that's hard when for Lycra based stuff you're supposed to wash at 40 degrees and not 60. I did see in the supermarket a Dettol based clothing wash and I think it was Oldfloss who recommended Milton fluid too...
If its lycra/wicking clothes that smell, then wash with soap powder but NO softener. Softener clogs the fibres and help harbour the bacteria which cause the smell.
To rid the smell and bacteria, add a capful of white viniger to the wash. Dont worry your clothes will not smell of viniger, but neither will they smell of sweat bacteria either π
I have done this for years for my sporty son's exercise clothes. If there is a build up of smell/ bacteria I would soak a while the first time you use viniger.
