According to Sarah Millican, I can now call myself a runner!

25 minutes of running at 7am this morning and it felt really good.

It is still taking me a little while to get into my pace, I'm a little too fast I think at the beginning but I seem to sort it out by 10 minutes in.

Really enjoyed the run this morning but I could do with some advice about running up steep inclines which I have on my run.

Someone said little small steps but I'm not sure if that's right ?

I tend to go with little steps to do the steeper bits...mine if fairly flat apart from a bridge over the road about 17 mins in so take little steps to get over it, seems to work?

Thank you Polly, I also have a bridge over the river about 20 minutes in and have been doing little steps but my legs are aching quite a bit when I do it so just wondered if that was the best way?

Sure there will be loads of good advice coming your way from all the experts on here. What works for some won’t for others. Do your legs recover fairly quick after?? Mine feel like lead going over the bridge but not too bad afterwards.

Small steps work there's another method that worked for me called the 'back stitch' method. From the bottom of the hill identity a milestone further up it - not too far obvs! Run up to it and then run back down giving your breathing time to settle, then identify another milestone further up beyond the first and run to that one and then back down. This was a piece of advice given to me by GrannyHelen57 and has been invaluable. You can do it within the intervals, it is hard to do. A combination of teeny tiny steps and this back stitch method worked for me.
