Well - I decided to give W5R3 a go when I was at the gym the other day (on the treadmill instead of the great outdoors like I usually would do C25K runs). Anyway I did find myself needing to stop a couple of times, not sure if this was because of the different conditions or because it was a certain 'time' for me (ladies u understand). Am I ok to give it another bash outdoors this time? I would really like accomplish the 20-minutes non-stop before moving on...
Week 5, run 3 - take 2?: Well - I decided to... - Couch to 5K
Week 5, run 3 - take 2?
I’d give it another go - the difficulty on the treadmill is that you have to match the pace it sets - or adjust it. You can’t just slow a tiny bit to catch your breath.
Week six brings a return to running with walking intervals, and to be honest, I found it frustrating. I really enjoyed running the 25 minutes at the end of the week.
For your confidence, I’d say having another go would be a good idea. Knowing I had already managed 20 minutes of continuous running definitely made the 25 minutes feel achievable.
You can definitely do it - because you’ve done everything else so far!
Hi Stephi , yes, I agree with the others, doing this run outside will give you the chance to start the run section extra slowly then relax into it. Its a great run that most people feel fabulous at acheiving.
Think of it in five minute chunks which you know you can do...
Good luck next time out.😊x
Go out there.. take it slow and steady and you will be just fine
