A week of feeling weak...but w4r2 in the bag

We seem to have had a fair few posts about coughs, colds and general bugs recently. I can empathise...managed first run in a while today due to aforementioned. Having been desperate to get out, but taking advice from wiser folk on this forum, left it until could breathe without coughing..

Started and finished with a big grin...so good to get out. Hard work at the end but kept it very slow.

Was worried that would lose some of the fitness gained so far...I know I'm very fortunate not to be on the IC, but am wondering if folk tend to start where they left off when not been able to get out, or ease more gently back in?

Also time off has meant I've even dreamt of running - is this normal?? 😉

There's no hard and fast rule about whether to pick up where you left off after an enforced break or to go back a few sessions - it's really up to you and how you feel. Whilst there is always the concern about losing some fitness after the break, there is also the benefit of having fresher legs where you've not run for a while - I'd say do whichever you feel happiest with and be kind to yourself.
